Future SNA Officer Positions

Voting will soon take place to fill SNA Officer positions for the Fall 2014 semester.  The Vice President position will be filled by a current MS I student and the Treasurer and Secretary positions will be filled by current MS II students.  Those who are interested in running for any of these positions must read, agree to, and sign a copy of the position's duties (like a job description).  The job descriptions are included below.  If you are interested in running for any of these positions, please email Amanda Clymer at aclymer001@terra.edu for a downloadable copy of the appropriate "job description."  You will be required to sign this before running for any SNA Officer position.

Vice President

The following is a list of the responsibilities for SNA Vice President.  Please know that additional duties may be requested of you.  Because serving as a SNA officer is time consuming, it is important that you understand what will be expected of you in your position.

  • Attend all SNA meetings (not limited to monthly SNA meetings, new student orientation, first day of class SNA informational, policy meetings).  It is understood that a student is unable to attend meetings if it conflicts with scheduled classes or clinicals.  Officers are expected to make arrangements with work so that they can attend SNA meetings. 
  •  Attend and support all fundraisers.  To include but not limited to the day off the fundraiser.
  •   Coordinate Community Service to include on and off Campus: 
    •  To make contact and coordinate a date of community service 
    • Keep a detailed log of information of whom you contacted
      • Date, time, name, number and email 
    • Ask for all classes for an event coordinator through e-mail or student reps 
    • Get volunteers for event
    • Maintain list
    •   Ensure coordinator is reminding volunteers 1 week prior to event 
    • Ensure that everyone who attended receive a certificate of participation 
    • Once event is done call/email contact letting them know we enjoyed the opportunity to help out and to keep us in mind next time they need assistance 
  • Certificate of Participation 
    • Prior to printing Certificates email proof to officers 
    • Notify President of any issues with the ability to print certificates 
    • Ensure that the volunteers and coordinator receive a certificate of participation 
  • Stay organized and on task 
  • Communicate with the officers.  Communication is the key to success 
  • Ensure a smooth transition for the following semester.
This position may require you to come to campus on days that you do not have classes.

Treasurer

The following is a list of the responsibilities for SNA Treasurer.  Please know that additional duties may be requested of you.  Because serving as a SNA officer is time consuming, it is important that you understand what will be expected of you in your position.
 

  • Attend all SNA meetings (not limited to monthly SNA meetings, new student orientation, first day of class SNA informational, policy meetings).  It is understood that a student is unable to attend meetings if it conflicts with scheduled classes or clinicals.  Officers are expected to make arrangements with work and with preceptors so that they can attend SNA meetings.
  • Maintain an accurate balance for the SNA account
  • Facilitate reimbursement to students for SNA expenses
  •  Coordinate SNA fundraisers and T-shirt sales
  • Complete a detailed expense report on a monthly basis lists all money earned and spent for the month.  At the end of the semester, complete a detailed expense report for the entire semester.  (A copy of these reports goes into the Treasurer’s file and a copy is sent to the SNA president).
  • Deliver monetary donation to charity
  • Ensure a smooth transition for the following semester

 This position may require you to come to campus on days that you do not have classes.

Secretary

The following is a list of the responsibilities for SNA Secretary.  Please know that additional duties may be requested of you.  Because serving as a SNA officer is time consuming, it is important that you understand what will be expected of you in your position.


  • Attend all SNA meetings (not limited to monthly SNA meetings, new student orientation, first day of class SNA informational, curriculum meetings).  It is understood that a student is unable to attend meetings if it conflicts with scheduled classes or clinicals.  Officers are expected to make arrangements with work and with preceptors so that they can attend SNA meetings.
  • Maintain an updated and accurate list of contacts for each class.  Provide this list to each officer and class rep.
  • Update the blog as needed (SNA agenda, SNA minutes, and special announcements)
  • Send SNA meeting minutes to Terra Nursing Department Secretary
  • Assist the SNA President and SNA Treasurer as needed
  • Ensure a smooth transition for the following semester

 This position may require you to come to campus on days that you do not have classes.
