SNA Hand-Off Meeting


This will be rescheduled due to schedule conflicts.  New date TBA.

Treasurer’s Report


The Run for Your Life 5K raised $1,132.  Once all debits clear, the balance will be $1,458.57.
After our charity donations are sent out, next semester’s class will be left with $458.57.

Charity


$500 will be donated to Parker’s Purpose.
An additional $500 will be donated to the Aaron Kajfasz Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Pinning Ceremony


Those present voted unanimously to purchase flowers (corsage or boutonniere) for each pinner.  This will cost $63.00.  Elizabeth Griffin will be in charge of picking up all the flowers, as well as getting lists to Patti regarding who is to receive flowers at the ceremony.
Nate is in charge of coordinating volunteers for the ceremony.  Nate reported there will be 5 volunteers present.  Two will hand out programs and 2 will pin flowers on pinners and faculty as they arrive.
Former SNA President, Meagan Rich, will be present at the ceremony to read the Nightingale Pledge.

April 2014 SNA Meeting Minutes

Vice President and Future SNA Officers


Katie Huffman has recently stepped down as Vice President of the SNA.  Nate Phelps has been voted in by the MedSurg II class to fill the vacancy.
Voting for next semester’s officers (VP, Treasurer, Secretary) will take place next week.  Interested individuals will be required to read, agree to, and sign an agreement detailing the position’s duties.
Future SNA officers will be required to volunteer at the pinning ceremony on May 10.

Treasurer’s Report


There has been no new activity since last month’s meeting.
The balance remains at $525.87.

Charity


The charity the SNA will be donating to this semester is Parker’s Purpose.

Community Service


The community services opportunity has been postponed due to the lateness of the votes.  With only 1 month remaining this semester (including Easter and the Run for Your Life 5K), there is not enough time to organize an additional community service project.
There are boxes around Terra’s campus, including in Building D, to gather donated items for care packages for troops.  These items are due by the week before graduation and will be sent out in time for Memorial Day.  There is a list around campus with suggested items (e.g., nonperishable food items such as powdered Gatorade).

Fundraiser – 5k Run/Walk


The t-shirts, medals, and chocolate milk have been ordered.
Amanda has completed the map of the route.
Volunteers are to meet at Terra at 0700 on the day of the race to assist in set-up.

Miscellaneous


Patti will be attending the student banquet on April 22 to learn whether or not we won the Student Organization/Club of the Year award.
Elizabeth Griffin discussed her progress on the planning of the pinning ceremony.  Invitations should hopefully be ready soon.  Each student will receive 8 invitations.  Amanda still needs Thank You paragraphs from several students.

SNA Spring 2014 Trash Pickup

The SNA completed trash pickup along our adopted stretch of Napoleon Rd. on Sunday, April 6.  Thank you to the 18 nursing students and friends/family who pitched in with the cleanup!
