Meeting minutes:
There is one student concern/complaint. Colleen to follow up.
No faculty concerns presented. Although Mrs. Penhos would like to let students know that aspirin is an antiplatelet NOT anticoagulate
Professionalism- Bickering to others about the program/staff is not allowed. No badmouthing the program to nurses at clinical site. Instructors know who are doing this. You do not want to be a part of it. Your behavior at clinical sites will impact your chance to become a future employee. Remember we are all graded on Professionalism.
Also it has been seen and heard that students complain about tests, scores, instructors, etc in the "study room". Be aware that people are always watching you and behavior like this is being reported to instructors. Also please be respectful of others in the "study room", students' are in there to study and do not want to hear personal conversations/complaints or your classroom lectures from recorders.
Charity- Students present in meeting voted on Heartbeat as our charity for this semester.
Community service- Many students voiced other community service options although no one emailed Colleen regarding this. So Trash pick-up will be the community service for the semester. This is Sunday October 7th at 3pm. IF it is raining, we will post on the blog by 2pm for a rescheduled day.
NLN will be here October 16, 17, 18 from 10-11am in D122 to talk to students. If you would like to participate please attend.
Graduation- Thursday Dec 13th at 6pm. It will not change. Other classes are encouraged to attend to show support and be aware of what happens for your future classes.
Hot dog sale- Profit of only $15.55. Lots of pop and chips are left over.
Flu clinic is October 23. Mrs. Kajfasz has sign up sheet for those interested in administering IM injection. This is a great opportunity for students and they will be able to list this on their volunteer section on their resume for Leadership class. Suggestions for a bake sale. If you cannot bake, you may participate by donating $5 to help out to pay for supplies and you will still be able to receive profits from the event.
If T-shirt order forms are not turned in and you will want to order please contact Sarah Howard or turn them in to Sandy in nursing office. They will be accepted up to Tuesday but no later!!!
Any questions please feel free to contact Colleen (president), Sarah (treasurer) or Iris (Secretary).
Thank you
