-Attendance sheets passed around meeting room, along with sign-up sheets for Bake Sale and Community Service Trash Pick Up.
-Meeting called to order by President of the TSCCSNA, Angie Good. Those in attendance were welcomed and thanked for coming.
Faculty Questions:
-President Angie Good, invited those in attendance to ask questions of the faculty in attendance or voice any concerns.
-Question raised about “Which textbook edition is being used to compile test questions for Leadership”?
*Mrs. Kajfasz answered question by stating “The older edition that 4th semester nursing students had from taking Transitions”.
Old Business:
-President, Angie Good, opened the discussion by stating that T-Shirt and Sweatshirt orders were in and to be passed out after the adjournment of the meeting.
-President, Angie Good, announced that Charity of choice that TSCCSNA will be donating to is the Kajfasz Scholarship
-President, Angie Good, announced that Community Service Project set for Saturday October 22nd, 2011 was to be Trash Pick-up on Napolean Rd. Fremont, OH 43420 stretching from OH-53 to Brush St. Students participating are to meet in Parking Lot of Building A at 12:30p and trash pick up to last from 1p-3p.
-President, Angie Good, stated scheduled Halloween Bake Sale to be held on October 25th, 2011 in Building B Atrium from 8a-4p. Bake Sale is Donation Based. Baked Goods that members of the TSCCSNA are donating are to be packaged to sell.
-President, Angie Good, clarified that Candle Order forms that had been previously passed out to each semester level nursing student are due Nov. 29th, 2011. If in need of an extra order form, or have any questions contact Sabrina Marshall, Treasurer or Angie Good, President. 35% of Individual Candle Sale money will go straight to seller’s personal accounts after the general fund and charity percentages are deducted.
-President, Angie Good, stated that T-shirt/Sweatshirt orders would be available for public sale at an increased price starting in November. Prices for Sale to the public are:
$8.00 each T-Shirt
$16.00 each Sweatshirt
-Nursing Tote Bags will also be available for Sale to members of the TSCCSNA and Public starting in November. Order forms are available on request. Order forms will be due no later than November 15th, 2011 so that delivery is ensured before the end of the Fall 2011 semester. Totes will be available in Two sizes and with the options of Two different strap colors:
Small Tote Bags-Blue/Pink Straps: $10
Large Tote Bags-Blue/Pink Straps: $15
-Treasurer, Sabrina Marshall discussed results of the Walking Taco Fundraiser held on October 4th 2011.
Profit= $330.02
Of that profit:
Charity Donation of 20%: $66.00
General Fund portion of 10%: $33.00
Personal Account portion (for all members who participated): $11.32
**Individual Email accounts will be sent out to all members of the TSCCSNA by Sabrina Marshall, Treasurer that will provide each member with an accumulative total of their personal accounts.
-President Angie Good, announces that another order of Suckers/Candy Bars will we made to give students the opportunity to sell more candy bars/suckers to the public. Additional sign-up sheet sent around meeting room.
- President Angie Good, reminded those students enrolled in 3rd Semester classes that Applications for Graduation in Spring of 2012 are due by October 24th. An application fee of $35.00 is required and due to the cashier’s office at time of application.
New Business:
-President Angie Good, announced 4th Semester level students will have a meeting about graduation on Monday November 7th, at 11am in room B103. Topics to be discussed at meeting:
*Key Note Speaker, Invitations, Food, Flowers, Programs…etc.
-Also at Graduation Meeting on November 7th, Representative from Grand Canyon College will be joining us and providing us lunch and a presentation about Bachelor’s Degree Courses offered at GCC. All who are interested are welcome to attend. Monday, November 7th at 11am in room B103.
-Vice President, Kelly Baker reminded all 4th semester nursing students that Graduation Pictures were scheduled for Monday October 24th at 11am. Blue Scrub Top/White Lab Jacket are required for the pictures. For details contact Kelly Baker.
-President Angie Good, announced Class Officer Positions for the TSCCSNA for Spring of 2012 will be announced at November 2011 Meeting. Officer positions are only available to current Med-Surg II level (3rd semester) students. Any student interested in running for position is to email President Angie Good (agood004@terra.edu) and your name will appear on the Ballot. Voting for officer positions will be held after class for Med-Surg II Tuesday, Nov. 8th.
**If all position are not filled by current 3rd semester students, opportunity will be open to 2nd and then 1st semester level nursing students.
-President Angie Good reminded students that Forms were available for area businesses that wanted to Donate goods/services to the TSCCSNA.
-Vice President Kelly Baker and President Angie Good opened discussion of any concerns about the Mentor Program. No concerns were verbalized at this time.
-President, Angie Good opened discussion for any Student concerns:
-Students were addressed by nursing faculty in 1st and 2nd semester level classes about professionalism in ALL areas the nursing program. Examples of Unprofessional behavior addressed are negative attitudes, disrespect to nursing faculty, tardiness, and unpreparedness.
**Students verbalized concerns regarding the matters addressed by nursing faculty include fairness and equal enforcement of policies by nursing faculty regarding professionalism and new points policy.
-President Angie Good, states that these concerns will be addressed by herself at the next monthly faculty meeting where she will be present.
