Sucker/Candy Bar Sales

-President Angie Good directed meeting to cover Sucker/Candy Bar fundraiser.

*Sucker/Candy Bar sales discussed during August, 2011 meeting.

·         Suckers:

-Price per sucker for TSCCSNA to buy: $0.25 with a minimum quantity of 640 suckers

-Price per sucker for Sale to Public: $0.50

-Students who buy suckers to sell will pay $0.50 per sucker and all sale money then         earned after will remain with the individual student who is selling.

-Each student will have the option to buy the quantity of suckers you want to sell

                - Each student will be able to get more suckers to sell if they need more
-Money for suckers is due upfront—a fundraiser agreement will be signed and receipt for quantity, type, and money paid will be issued.
-After a student initially pays for their quantity of suckers to sell, NO SUCKERS CAN BE RETURNED FOR MONEY BACK!
**Students are responsible to sell the suckers in order to make back the money in
which they paid to buy them—and in return gain money in each of their individual                                           funds
·         Candy Bars:

-Price per box of Candy Bars for TSCCSNA to buy: $18.99

-Price per box of Candy Bars for Student to sell: $52.00

-Price of individual Candy Bar for sale to Public: $1.00

-Students will be able to split boxes of candy to sell with a group of classmates.

*if splitting box it will need to be specified on fundraiser agreement form and receipt that will breakdown quantity per person/individual money paid.

-Money for Candy Bar boxes is due upfront—a fundraiser agreement will be signed and receipt for quantity, and money paid will be issued.

-After a student initially pays for their quantity of Candy Bars/Box to sell, NO CANDY CAN BE RETURNED FOR MONEY BACK!

**Students are responsible to sell the candy in order to make back the money in
which they paid to buy them—and in return gain money in each of their individual funds.

-Clarification by Sabrina Marshall & Sarah Heidl:

·         Money is required upfront with Sucker and Candy Bar sales to reduce the incidence of not getting money turned in at end of each sale.

·         Students who purchase Candy Bars or Suckers to be sold will not lose any money unless they do not sell the quantity in which they purchased initially.

·         Breakdown of Monetary Difference:

Ex:  Purchase of 1 Box of Candy Bars by Student to sell = $52.00

Purchase of 1 Box of Candy Bars by TSCCSNA to sell = $18.99

                                             $52.00

                                           $18.99

                                             $33.01

$33.01 will be divided between—general fund, charity donation, individual student account.

** the same concept will hold true for sucker sales.

·         Sales will continue through the end of the Fall 2011 semester in December.

So just to clarify if the student purchases the candy bars or suckers out right they keep the entire profit but if the nursing assoc. purchases the materials the profits will be split?

Sarah Heidl said...

The profit will always be split between the (1) general fund and (2) the student fund of the student selling the candy/suckers.

Ex:
When a student buys a box of candy from the TSCCSNA for $52.00 the profit of $31.00 (as described in the meeting notes) will automatically be put split into that individual student's account and the general fund. It is then the students responsibility to sell the candy for $1.00 a bar to ensure that they are not losing any money in the process and profiting themselves.

We decided that getting the money upfront will ensure that the TSCCSNA will not "fit the bill" for those incidences when students don't turn their money from selling candy in at the end of the semester...also the end of the semester gets very hectic and busy for everyone and makes it difficult to track down such students.

The money is split 3 ways. A percent to general fund, the charity, and then the student.
