REGUARDNG THE SOFT POINT POLICY
The soft point policy was discussed at the most recent faculty meeting and the faculty voted that the soft points will not be able to pass us but they will not be able to fail us either. The points will be added on to your final grade as long as your testing average is a 78% or higher. Let this be a reminder to not slack on the soft points as to not get this privlage taken away from us!
*The meeting with Dean K and the Med-Surg 1 students should be resolved*
MED-SURG 1 LABS
Labs and open labs have problems that are still arising, namely communications issues. Ideas were brought up to have a sign up sheet on angel for all the med-surg 1 students to ensure adequate open lab time. Also a suggestion of more practice time and less lecture in lab, as stated by the students in attendence, would be more helpful.
FUNDRAISERS
There was an issue with the bake sale. Harry Dixon, Angie Dixon's husband was running the bakesale for the second half of the day. THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN WITH 90 STUDENTS! We all understand that we all are busy and have to study, have kids, work, ect. however there is no excuse for there being nursing students available at the college to work the bake sale and passing Harry by and not relieving him. On a better note, we made $328.62 from the sale and after charity and general fund those who participated will receive $15.77 in their account. Caryn Tiell, the current treasurer has all account information and current amounts if anyone is interested. Her email is ctiell002@terra.edu.
The silicone bands were purchased and they will state SUPPORT NURSING. We are selling them for $1.00 each. Nicole Vitte made a very good suggestion to remind people that none of the profit goes towards the cancer association of the color of bands your selling. Remind buyers the colors were purely chosen to wear in support of a disease you feel strongly about or that a loved one has, not to profit that disease's research.
Candy boxes were ordered and hopefully everyone is selling well!
Since boxes were never put out for the paper and cleaning drive for The Village House, Nicole Vitte is now providing boxes along with Dena B. and Ashliegh W. providing flyers for the boxes. THANKS LADIES!
Starting soon Terra will hold our money account instead of having the money at banks. This is d/t being able to have access to the associations money in case the current Treasurer fails or drops out and does not leave behind the check book or relinquish rights to the account.
New forms have been started for all fundraisers that will be filled out by the Secretary.
Both of the above are new Terra policies.
MENTORS
Once again if there are any problems with mentors or mentorees please contact VP Gretchen Hermes.
