*This was the largest group we've had attend a meeting in months! LETS KEEP IT UP*
The meeting started by introducing the officers to the new class and those unfamiliar.
The first half of the meeting was primarily about fundraisers. The 50/50 drawing ended with a total earning of $147 and with Penny Boyd the winner of $73.50. CONGRATS PENNY!
Dena from med-surg 1 is checking into a gift package from Mon Ami to be included in our next raffle fundraiser to go along with a stay at the Bay Haven, a bed and breakfast owned by Gretchen Hermes. The due date for that information is due by our next nursing meeting. Angie has that date posted previously.
Starting February 1st we are starting a paper/cleaning product drive for the Village House of Fremont. This will last the entire month of February with one box in each building on campus for donation. The boxes will be provided by Sabrina Marshall of med-surg 2. We still need someone to volunteer to make flyer's to post around the college. The flyer's should consist of who is hosting the drive, what we are collecting, where people can donate and who the donations go to.
I am creating a number of sign up sheets for upcoming events, all of which will be posted on the nursing board by the lab room by February 1st. This brings me to our candy bar fundraiser. We have decided to get candy boxes from Sam's Club through Angie Dixon and Angie Hoppes. Please put your name down and how many boxes you will need. The second sign up sheet will be for our next bake sale. Angie Dixon posted the details of this event previously. Please refer to her post for questions concerning the bake sale. The final sign up sheet will be for the silicon band bracelets. The bracelets will say " support nursing " and come in all different colors. Please sign up with your name, how many bracelets you want and possibly a specific awareness color if you feel you can sell more of those. (i.e. pink=breast cancer awareness, purple=CF awareness. etc.) If you do not want to sell an awareness color that is fine. There will also be generic colors for all personal tastes.
Brei had a great idea to have a silent raffle as a fundraiser. Details of this are TBA.
The decision was made to not go through with the lock-in and car wash fundraisers.
Addressed next was the mentor program. If any mentored have not heard from their mentors or have questions you may contact Gretchen Hermes by email : Ghermes001@terra.edu
Dean Kajfasz wanted to pass along to save your pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House fundraiser happening around the college. Boxes will be placed around campus.
ATTENTION MED-SURG 2 STUDENTS! nominations for officers will be at the end of class Tuesday, February 1st.
ATTENTION FUNDAMENTAL STUDENTS! nominations for your class representatives will be handled via email. PLEASE check emails!
Finally student questions and concerns were addressed. This consisted of the new policy. We all seem to be unhappy with the new policy and as an organization decided that the four senior officers will address the nursing staff and relay our concerns. The outcome is TBA.
THANK YOU FOR ALL WHO CAME!

I would like to add, that if you sign up for candy bars, you will have to sell ALL that you take! They cannot be returned!
Amiee, I went ahead and made up the bake sale sign-ups since I have a template for them!
Great work posting the minutes!!!
Due to the weather, I was unable to get the med-surg II nominations today! We will plan on next Tuesday the 8th!
