Hey Everyone, Here are this month’s Meeting minutes, 12-7-10.
PAPER DRIVE FOR THE VILLAGE HOUSE
We will be doing a paper product and cleaning supplies drive for the Village House that we hope to start the second week of the spring semester.
FUND RAISING
Thanks to all those who participated in the candle drive, your hard work raised $618.45, 123.69 of which will go to charity, $49.48 will go into general funds, and the rest will be divided up between those who participated. Good work, and keep it up guys! Angie will be at Terra on Monday and Tuesday next week for those who need to pick up their candles.
Due to low turnout the 50/50 raffle has been extended to January, anyone interested in selling tickets can get them through our treasurer Caryn, As well as Angie who will have some available on Monday and Tuesday when you come to get your candles.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the bake sale –thanks to your efforts we raised 459.76, with left over items being donated to a local soup kitchen. We will be having another bake sale around Valentine’s Day with official days for the sale to be announced at a later time.
Ideas for future fundraising activities include raffling of a one night stay at the Bay Haven Inn, sales of “support nursing” sports band bracelets for one dollar each, chocolate bar sales, and a possible car wash in the spring. The idea of having a Lock In for local community school aged children was also thrown around.
STUDENT MENTOR PROGRAM
We are looking for volunteers to participate in the student mentor program for the new classes coming in. Those interested please contact Gretchen.
COMMUNICATION
We seem to be having a communication issue. There are concerns that needed information is not getting to the nursing students. As always, the best place to get information is at the meetings, and all important info is posted to the blog. We are also trying to increase communication between the lpn to rn students. If there are any questions please contact Angie.
Have a nice day,
Kristen
