Other than the books that we are already buying, is there anything that you have found that will help us as incoming nursing students this year?

i used Mosby's Diagnostic and Laboratory Test Reference for clinicals. It helps with learning what test are for and what the normals should be and what they indicate. I also use a clipboard with a case that opens up to keep my papers in.

Oh yeah and maybe a Digital voice recorder might be extremely helpful

For Clinicals: Care Plan book (I used the one that they have in the book store), Davis's Comprehensive Handbook of Laboratory and Diagnostic Tests (ISBN 978-0803618268), Davis Drug Guide, Tabers, and Nurse's Clinical Pocket Guide (ISBN 978-0803613355)

For Class: I also used the books from clinicals, but the best thing I got for the classroom was my voice recorder! You will defiantly want one!!

Pharmacology: Drug Guide, and a IV Drug Guide Book.

I also used the internet ALOT!!! Sister Pat allowed me to use my laptop in class, cause all the noted were on Angel.

I also Highlighted ALOT!! I used 2 different colors....one color I highlighted important stuff from class, one color I used when I read and from what I thought was important, and the 3rd color i used after I took the test. I went back through the book and highlighted what was on the test. This method helped me alot.

Plus the test are not black and white....they are more critical thinking and what is the BEST answer...hope that helps a little
